Not your first choice
Not sure as to why, but the course was in bad shape. The greens were awful and the traps needed some TLC. The layout was nice but not accurately reflected on yardage markers on the course or scorecard. As I am not a local I cannot say for certainty but the groups of players, both high and low handicappers, were slow...very slow. If I was assured the greens recovered and the pace of play improved, I would play again and recommend the course. However, as is avoid.
Great Course
Sunkist Country Club was a fun experience, played late in the afternoon and had only a couple of slow holes with pace of play. The greens were immaculant and rolled fast and true. Fairways had just been punched and aereted but still rolled consistent. Had some tricky holes with fun designs and overall just a great experience. They will be punching and aerating the greens may 1st-15th so I probably wouldn't play there during that time frame however any other time it is a great place to play and challenge your golf game.
Sunkist
Beautiful day in MS and a perfect day for golf. Course was in fairly decent shape. They were core aerating the day we played. Greens in great shape.
Great course for price paid
Greens ran great and somewhat true. Fairways could use some work. Overall great experience and very great and welcoming staff.
Front 9
the front 9 fairways and greens are in poor condition. On the back 9, they were good to very good. Overall cleanliness and upkeep were 4 stars.
A
SunKist is a straight ahead, well maintained course.
There is nothing tricky about it, Play moved along well, the greens were in good shape. Overall much better condition than the other area courses.
Fun Outing
I'm from New Orleans, but often spend the weekend in the Bay St. Louis. I really enjoy this course because of the elevation changes. Being from New Orleans, elevation changes barely exist. While this course isn't long (~6250 from the tips) there are some really great holes with blinds shots, shots over water, doglegs & uphill/downhill. The greens have been in great shape every time I've played and roll true, while not being crazy fast or frustratingly slow. I'll happily make the drive to play there again.
Mounded greens
Fairways run next to each other which allow you to spray tee shots on some holes and get away with it. Of course, this also results in groups playing toward you on your hole when they mishit. Due to mounded greens, if you miss short front, you are fine, but miss green to left or right and your wedge game will be tested. Greens are fast.
I play this course 15+ times a year. One of the best values you will find on the MS coast.
Biloxi golfing fun!
Enjoyed playing with Mike and Roger from Ft. Walton, Fl. Thanks GolfNow for making it possible.
Greens are smooth
Enjoyed another great round at Sunkist as always friendly staff great course conditions and wonderful pace-of-play. The greens were in the best shape I've ever seen them extremely smooth and pretty quick another great round
Nice public course
Nice course, leafs are are on the course and could be cleaned up. Driving range is lacking grass. Fun course for all levels of players, most greens are raised.
Not What Was Expected
They allow groups of 5 behind a single and no one plays through. 20-25 minutes sometimes waiting to hit a shot. Course condition was not at all what was expected for $35. Many patches in fairways of just sand. (Not sand traps) doubtful will play this course again.
Good Time on Nice Course
I'm a novice golfers and I enjoyed this course. The fairways are fairly wide which was great for me.
Great Course
Course was in good condition, will play again if I pas through Biloxi.
Above average, highly recommended
Overall a good value, especially if you are military the discount is excellent. Tee boxes and greens very well maintained. Course condition was well above average for the time of year. A few areas had some standing water due to poor drainage but otherwise no issues. Very empty during the early morning but tee times seemed to fill up around 10am on the weekend. Fairways often ran parallel, thus shanked or mishit balls frequently ended up on adjacent fairways, interrupting pace of play.
